Columbia River Gorge
One of my absolutely favorite places in the world, the Columbia River Gorge never disappoints. Whether we go deep into the Gorge (about 1.5hrs away from Portland) to Rowena Crest for example or we stay a little closer (see image above, around 30 minutes from Portland) we will never be short of amazing scenery when it comes to the Gorge.

River Beach Portland Photography Locations
You’d be surprised at how amazing some of the river beaches we have around Portland, OR are. Sure, we could drive 1.5hrs to get to the Oregon Coast and that would be totally epic, but if you don’t feel like going on such a long trip at night with the kids, I totally get it! I have scouted a beautiful river beach location just 30 minutes away from Portland that will leave us wanting for nothing.
Waterfall Locations
One slight obsession of mine is waterfalls. I make a point to visit as many places with waterfalls as I can because I think they are magic, don’t you? This top secret location I scouted for my clients this year will make your jaw drop. Not only it has a beautiful waterfall but the whole scenery is just out of this world. It feels like we are in a different planet there and the results are incredible!
Rocky River Portland Photography Locations
Something that not a lot of people pay attention to when choosing a location for family photos are the textures that the background will bring. I believe texture and colors can make your family photos go from, nice! to WOW! That’s why I spend a lot of my time searching for locations that have something special, like these beautiful rocky river locations shown here.
Beautiful State and Regional Parks
We have so many beautiful state and regional parks around us! It really is hard to choose but I do have some favorites of mine to show you where I have made some amazing magic with my clients before.
What I look for in a park is access to amazing light, beautiful views, interesting natural elements and something for the kids to do. So it can’t be just any park, it takes time and patience to find the perfect spots and I’m so happy to be able to do that for you!
In Your Home
Are you suspicious of the weather this time of year? Would your kids rather never have ice cream again than being out in the cold for a whole hour? Then having your session at home might be an excellent idea! We won’t have to worry about the weather, your kids will be comfortable and relaxed in their home and you can wear anything you want without worrying about freezing! Specially if you have a newborn, that might be an excellent choice for you. I am fully vaccinated and will be wearing a mask at all times (for both indoor and outdoor sessions).
If you are worried about your home not being “good enough” for pictures, I can assure you there’s no such a thing! As long as we can find a couple of windows with good light we will make amazing memories.
