Motherhood Session in Portland OR
This mother and daughters session was the stuff dreams are made of. As a Family Photographer in Portland Oregon I want mamas to feel like they can have amazing memories with their kids and not just be the ones taking the photos all the time.
We drove to this waterfall location about 50 minutes from Portland and made this beautiful family photos.
The styling worked perfectly with the dark colored rocks and this place has such an epic vibe to it, it made us feel like we were in a different planet.
We wanted to capture the amazing bong between this mama and her daughters. By getting them to stay close to each other and enjoy some moments of quietness with their eyes closed, we were able to do just that. The kids were able to explore the location, be silly and have fun with mom.

- Location- avoiding parks that are crowded and super manicured is super important. That’s why I always believe that driving a little farther will always pay off
- Getting to know you – I take the time to get to know the families I work with. Putting it simply, it pays off because the more I know about you, the more I can understand and tell your story
Session Preparation -Family Photographer in Portland Oregon
One of the most important parts of the photography process for us is getting to know my families as much as possible before the actual session. That allows us to create images that speak to your heart.
One useful tool is a questionnaire that is sent to you when you book a session and then we either get on a video call or even meet in person so that you can try some clothes from the client closet on. This allows for us to be familiar with each other by the time we get to the session and it makes for a very relaxed and fun environment for your photos.

A lot of photographers would say they don’t have time for that. For me this is an integral part of my process. Even if that means I have to take on less clients to be able to spare the time to know more about you, I still believe it’s worth it.
Family Photos Styling
Isn’t mama’s dress amazing? We worked on styling together. To make sure the kids were comfortable with their wardrobe we got the involved! They did not want dresses and that’s totally fine. We found them some beautiful rompers at Target and Old Navy
Styling might not come to mind when as an important part of the photo shoot process for you, we get it. With a little intention behind colors and patterns we can take your photos to a next level. Ensuring that the colors of the environment blend in well with the colors your family is wearing is one of the most important things we do during the session preparation. And don’t worry, that doesn’t mean any extra work for you. We will send you a ton of ideas as well as our styling guide and other tools to make styling the session super easy.
