Planning Your Visit to Cooper Mountain Nature Park

Cooper Mountain Nature Park is a hidden gem located in the heart of Beaverton, Oregon. This 231-acre park offers an abundance of activities for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages.

One of my favorite things about this park is its extensive trail network, which offers visitors a chance to explore the lush forests, grasslands, and wetlands that make up this beautiful landscape. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful stroll or an invigorating hike, the park has a trail for you.

In addition to hiking, Cooper Mountain Nature Park you can also have so much fun birdwatching and wildlife viewing here. The park is home to a variety of bird species, including bald eagles, great blue herons, and western bluebirds, making it a prime location for bird enthusiasts.

For those looking to learn more about the local flora and fauna, stop by the Nature Center where you can find educational exhibits and programs that explore the natural history of the area.

Overall, Cooper Mountain Nature Park is a fantastic place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the great outdoors. With its stunning natural beauty and diverse range of activities, it’s no wonder why this park is a local favorite.

One important thing to note is that dogs are not allowed at this and all the other Metro park locations. These parks are home to a wide variety of wild animals ( we have seen deer, hawks, eagle and so much more here). Bikes are also not allowed.

The park is open from dawn to dusk. Sunsets are beautiful to watch here, which is why it’s such a good location for photoshoots.

Can I have my family photos at Cooper Mountain?

The short answer is, yes you can! The landscape and views make this park a fantastic option for your family photos all year around. I love that it’s so easy to access and close to the city.

An important side note is that conservation is a very big deal at this park. For this reason, they  do not allow people to go off trails.

Although you will see people at the park who are not respectful of this rule, this is not the case with me. I am grateful for the spaces we have available to use in our city for my work and like to be respectful of nature.

That doesn’t mean that we can’t get amazing pictures at this location. As you can see from the photos shown here, we can!
